Stand UP


Lets get to it! I want to acknowledge that today April 27, 201., is National Denim Day and YES!!!! I am rocking my fly jeans with my stilettos today :-). Just to give you all a bit of background info on how this cause/day was created...

"An 18-year old girl is picked up by her married 45-year old driving instructor for her very first lesson. He takes her to an isolated road, pulls her out of the car, wrestles her out of one leg of her jeans and forcefully rapes her. Threatened with death if she tells anyone, he makes her drive the car home. Later that night she tells her parents, and they help and support her to press charges. The perpetrator gets arrested and is prosecuted. He is convicted of rape and sentenced to jail.

He appeals the sentence. The case makes it’s all the way to the Italian Supreme Court. Within a matter of days the case against the driving instructor is overturned, dismissed, and the perpetrator released. In a statement by the …

Moving Forward

Happy Monday everyone!

Though I was not planning on blogging today, my spirit felt the urge to do so. HERE WE GO!

I woke up a couple of days ago humming this song "Moving Forward". Some of the words I did not even know I knew, I just kept humming the melody. Finally I looked up the lyrics and found that they totally related to me and this new journey that I am on. I posted the song below for your listening pleasure :-). Anyhow, often times we want to hold on to people and things who do not necessarily have our best interest at heart. Or we, after being delivered from a situation or person, go back to that same situation and or person  that we begged and prayed for God to just make it okay.

Keep It On The Down Low

Yesterday, April 10, 2011., my baby S.A.S.S.U was born. I launched the event at my church and also had a party in downtown Chicago which turned out to be successful. Though not many people came over to the table to get pamphlets, they surely got them enough candy to take with them on their journey. Also, some of them pretended to be interested in receiving more information and once I turned my head they snuck a piece of candy and were GONE! lol That evening, I held a launch party downtown at Akira inside of Block 37. I quickly learned that planning events take way more preparation than I thought. Regardless of the fact that it didn't turn out exactly like I wanted it to, I am still excited about this new journey.
